Living with HPE

Entry for August 29, 2006

Last after I finished my last post & picked Eric Ryan up & rocked him to sleep. He faught me ahile but about 15mins later he was out! So I got a pretty good sleep, which I needed since I didnt get a nurse today.

We had theropy today & I was so proud OF my Boog-a-boo. He did so well! He hardly faught & let them really work with him. During OT the theropist placed a cat puppet that meows between his legs & placed his hands on both sides. She squeezed his hands together & after a few times, he tried doing it himself! He's never responded like that before! I couldnt help but laugh. He couldnt squeeze it hard enough to make it meow, but thats ok, he tried & thats all that matters! Then during ST he began grawling at the theropist everytime she tried to massage his palate. She thought he sounded like a lion. I told her "Just call his Simba!" I was also happy because the other baby who goes there that has alobar HPE was there. She has been in & out of the hospital & Im glad shes doing better now. I know how hard it is when they are in the hospital, you dont get any rest because your there all day & they dont like you to sleep there if their in the Pediatric ICU.

I thank God that Eric Ryan has been pretty healthy considering & we havent been admitted since his fundo surgery in Feb. I pray everyday for the continued good health & progress!
