The past few days have been up & down. Eric Ryan has has some really good nights...slept all night so far since Monday but his days have been, well lets just say difficult. I talked to his neurologist about the new medication maybe causing the extra fussiness but he told me to give it a few more weeks so Eric Ryan can get used to it. I mean its really working as far as his seizures go, hardly having any at all! But now Im starting to think he might be getting in a new tooth!
We had his last day of theropy here in Tx on Thrusday. It went pretty good considering his attitude! But when his speech therapist tried massaging his gum on the upper right side, he would jerk away & sort of growl at her. It was actually kinda funny. Then when herealized she wasnt going to stop he tried biting her. Then I think he just finally gave in, but was very sensative tp that side. The therapist thought she felt a little bump there. You know now that I think about it, his fussiness started around the same time he started teething. I tried orajel & tylenol but nothing does the job. I even tried giving a teething ring & put a glove on so he can chew on my finger but didnt seem to help. I've heard from others that some of the medications make their gums thicker & lots of kiddos with HPE seem to have a really hard time when teething. It takes longer for them to come out. Eric Ryan has 4 teeth but I think only 1 of them is completely out. Oh my, his top right tooth is so sharp! He knows it to I think becuase thats the one he uses to bite! But its ok because he wont go after you unless you put your finger in his mouth, so we dont get after him.
My dad, Grandpa Art, is getting into town tonight! Im really excited, havent seen him since our vacation to California in June. Hes going to be taking our stuff back to Ca. But today I decided to fly out. I was going to help my dad drive but I'm worried Eric Ryan wont do so good, its a really long drive.
Eric Ryan is also going to spend the night at his daddys again on Saturday...oh dont get me started on that! Short version....Eric called his mom over to babysit last Saturday while he went out with his stupid friend!!!! I was soooo upset!!! I couldnt believe it! Well actually it really didnt suprise be, its not the first time he put partying over Ryan or me! But I guess I was more mad at the fact that he lied & tried to act as if he was father of the year for taking him. So, as "punishment" he's going to do have Ryan again tomorrow night. Its really a favor if you ask me since he's not going to see Ryan until Christmas when he plans on going to visit us. Lets see how it goes.
