Ryan is sicky!
Well the last couple days Ryan has been running fever on & off, been couphing & sneezing a litttle & just hasnt been his self. So I took him to the doctors today & it turns out he has an upper respiratory infection! Luckily I had already upped his cortef to stress levels & started his nebulizer treatments for his lungs yesturday. The dr just added another neb treatment, pulmicort & also added singulair to his daily regiment of meds. He's breathing alot better & pray he gets over this soon.
I am bummed out because I had been planning on meeting a family from Northern Califonia in Sacramento on Tuesday. It doesnt look like were going to make it.
2008 Family Conference on Holoprosencephaly
Well the information is officially out! The HPE conference is set for July 10-12 in Indianapolis, Indiana!!! Im so excited!!!! Several things are going to take place. First there is going to be clinical evaluations for our kiddos by drs from the Carter Centers & Peyton Manning Childrens Hospital at St. Vincent. These are leading experts on HPE & I cant wait to set Ryans appointment!!!
The rest of the weekend is going to be filled with workshops on issues like seizures & CVI, things directly relating to Ryan! Also there are going to be lots of other families there dealing with HPE, most apart of my online yahoo supprt group! I talk to these families on a daily basis & cant wait to meet them in person!
We have been concerned about our finances & how we were going to pay for all our flights. But God always makes away! I had been saving my checks (all 2 of them so far, lol!) from working at Ry's school, but we needed to use most of the money for Jazmins plain ticket to come for the summer. So I was very nervous we couldnt do it.
Well yesturday I got online & started looking up charity flights for medical evaluations & conferences. I e-mailed a few of them & wrote down some #'s. This morning I got a phone call from National Patient Traveler & found out that they only fly within 1000miles for the appointment site. But she did give me a list of #'s to call of organizations/airlines that might beable to help. Well, the 1st one I called was Miracle Flights & guess what...we hit the jackpot!!! I spoke to a rep named Stacey & she was jsut awesome. She said they tipically dont fly for conferences but since he will be evaluated it qualifys. All I have to do is send back the appropriate forms signed by Ry's local drs & verification of the evaluation at the conference & were good to go!!! It would be 1 free ticket for Ryan & a parent with at least a $25 donation to the organization! Praise GOD!!!!!! Of corse I sont know the exact flight details yet because they only scuedule within 60dys of the appointment but I am so excited & feel very blessed!!!!!!
